National surveillance and Access Control

National Highways need to monitor traffic and National Highway Administration should not only focus on monitoring important sections of expressways, but also meet the monitoring needs within the Administration. Long distance, fast speed of capturing vehicles, to consider the later expansion is the focus and difficulty of the whole project.

Then there is considerations for staff and buildings as well; securing entry/exit and where and when staff can go, operate and the rights they have to be able to monitor systems on national scales.

Milestone VMS was chosen as the front end to provide multi-monitor functionality across all buildings in which operators work in; allowing for the system to be scaled down and each department can view areas within their jurisidiction.

25,000 Infinity 2MP cameras were deployed on gantries, poles, observation decks and inside and outside Highway Administration buildings so that every critical stretch of highway and every important administration building, had surveillance in Full HD.

Infinity was chosen as it is the most flexible camera vendor and would work seamlessly with any front end that the client chose to use.

To protect staff and buildings; Infinity Web Access Control was chosen. Protecting every critical door on a national scale with native TCP/IP controllers and an ability to work with any Wiegand card reader vendor that the client wanted, was a huge plus.

Equally as important was the fact an Infinity Access sytem can grow to any size; no matter how many doors or system users or people enrolled in the system badging in and out, Infinity can grow unlike any other vendor to cope with the changing demand of the client. Further, being natively IP and browser-based; the system can be managed from anywhere and can even be turned into a cloud solution if the client wishes to go down that route in the future. The client can centrally manage the system or have operatives with connected tablets (Windows, Apple or Android) and manage and monitor wherever they are.
